Scott Hentges

Regional Aftermarket Account Manager

He’s been with EDI longer than most, and we’re grateful for the kindness he puts in his customer service and years in the business to help ensure you get the best service with the best parts. Here’s Scott Hentges!

Length of Time with EDI: I started in December 1987 (37+ years)

Territory: California, Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, Nevada, Idaho, Oregon, Washington, British Columbia, Alaska, Yukon, Northwest Territories, and Nunavut.

Q: How did you get to the position you are in now? Where did you start 30+ years ago and what positions have you held before this one?

A:

  • I was able to learn the inside and out of our products. I was hired as a draftsman and to implement CAD to upgrade from hand-drawn layouts and details (in the 1988 EPA Fine Pore Aeration Manual, mine is the first graphic in the book).
  • From there, I moved to Project Management and eventually Project Engineering Manager. My first proposal that I wrote in 1992 ended up winning Best Small Plant Upgrade by Operator’s Forum magazine.
  • In the late 1990’s we had several customers that wanted immediate help with installing their EDI equipment, but couldn’t find contractors will to do the small amount of work. A group of EDI employees started installing small systems on weekends. We realized that there were a lot of owners needing the expertise that we could provide installing our equipment…this led to what is today SiteWorks.
  • When the construction arm of the company was started, I joined that division to manage the crews, customer engagement, proposals and safety.

Q: What is your favorite part of Aftermarket to talk about and why?

A: I enjoy helping customers solve their problems by overcoming challenges and finding different ways of solving their problems.

What do you wish others in the wastewater industry understood that isn’t talked about enough?

This is a rewarding career in an often overlooked and limited resource industry; solving problems and working to make the world a better place

Q: What project have you worked on or completed recently that you’re most proud of and want mentioned here?

A: In all of my years doing this, there aren’t specific projects that I’m most proud of, they are all different, but equally rewarding. I’ve had the opportunity to wear many hats at EDI and was able to learn from a lot of talented people.

OUR TEAM IS ALWAYS THERE FOR YOU
